Event Info

General

DATES: Saturday, April 4 to Sunday, April 5

LOCATION: Competition will be held at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse located at 210 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33880.

AGE DIVISIONS: Girls Divisions – 12U-18U. Divisions may be combined if necessary. The age determination date is September 1. No age waivers allowed.

COMPETITION FORMAT: Pool play will begin on Saturday, April 4 with AM and PM waves. Single elimination bracket play and finals will take place on Sunday, April 5.

AAU MEMBERSHIP: All athletes and coaches must be members of AAU and follow the AAU membership guidelines.

ENTRY FEE & DEADLINE: The entry fee is $250 per team. All entries must be completed online at www.advancedeventsystems.com. Entry Deadline is March 18, 2020 or earlier if capacity is reached. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not complete until the entry fee is received.

TEAM CANCELLATION: Withdrawals made in writing by March 18, 2020 will receive a 50% refund. Any team withdrawing after March 18, 2020 will forfeit its entire entry fee. Withdrawal requests must be made in writing to mach3events@gmail.com.

OFFICIALS & SCOREKEEPERS: Each team must provide 1 qualified down referee, 2 line judges and scorekeepers (libero tracker, scoresheet, & flip score) for the matches they are assigned to referee. Not providing an officiating crew may result in a forfeit of the first game of the next scheduled match. A rostered coach must be present at the score table for the entire match when your team is scheduled to work.

TEAM ROSTERS: Team rosters are REQUIRED by March 18, 2020. You must submit an AAU verified AES roster roster by this date so that your coaches receive all information leading up to this event. Roster changes are permitted up until April 3, 2020. Team rosters may include up to 15 players and 5 adult staff personnel. All players and staff personnel must be current AAU members (pending status not accepted). Only those participants listed on the roster will receive event credentials. Players can only be on one team roster. Coaches can be on multiple team rosters. When filling out your team rosters, please, make sure that the accurate email addresses and phone numbers are used for your coaches so that they receive the proper information leading up to the event.

TEAM CHECK-IN: Team check-in will be done online by April 2, 2020. All teams must respond to email with final roster and confirming attendance. Onsite check-in will be on Friday, April 3 from 6pm-8pm. Late onsite check-in will be on Saturday, April 4 from 7am-12pm. Coaches will receive credentials when they check-in. Teams must pick up credentials an hour prior to the start of their first match.

RULES: The AAU Citrus Grove Grand Prix will be conducted under rules of the AAU Code, AAU Volleyball Handbook and current playing rules of USA Volleyball, as modified by the AAU National Volleyball Committee. For complete information, please refer to www.aauvolleyball.org.

  • AAU membership guidelines will be followed.
  • No age waivers will be allowed. It is the responsibility of the coach to enter the team in the correct age category. 

SPECTATOR TICKETS: Tickets may be purchased upon arrival at the Chain of Lakes Fieldhouse. Daily ticket prices are $10. Length-of-event tickets are $20. Children 9 & Under are free.

MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES:
  • This event is licensed by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.
  • All participants must have current AAU membership numbers before competition begins (pending status is not acceptable). Visit www.aauvolleyball.org to obtain membership (club, non-athlete and athlete membership required).
  • Membership is not included in the event entry fee.
  • Registration is not complete until the team entry fee is received. 

GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES:

  • The winner in each girls’ age division with 12 or more teams will receive a free entry fee to the AAU National Championships, the West Coast Championships, or the AAU Volleyball Festival.
  • If less teams participate, the entry fee will be adjusted on a percentage basis per the chart below based on the number of teams that participated in that division.
